Today's 2nd Gamebore DTL Winter Series and Christmas Shoot, saw 75 shooters attend.
With changeable conditions and light, it was a challenging shoot, but 38 shooters shot a 280+, including 15 on 290+.
At the top, it was tight, with only 3 points separating the top 6 shooters.
But on 100/299, Joint High Guns were Elis Jones and Paul Chaplow-both Mid Wales SC sponsored shooters!
Well done to them and to the other prize winners who won a selection of meat joints, spirits and wines to enjoy over Christmas and a big Thank You to all the other shooters for their support and all of us at Mid Wales Shooting Centre wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Coed-Y-Sarnau Gun Club sponsored the Welsh Junior DTL Team for the recent HCIT. The 5 Junior Shooters, presented Coed-Y-Sarnau with this letter of thanks.
Dear Coed-Y-Sarnau Gun Club
Thank you very much for sponsoring each member of the Welsh Junior Team 300 cartridges for the HCIT, the British Open and the European Open. We all really appreciated this fantastic gesture, as we and our parents/guardians work very hard to pay for our shooting and ammunition and this act of kindness and charity goes a long way as the prices of cartridges are so high. You have been a big help and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Thank you Coed-Y-Sarnau Gun Club!
Rhys Tucker, Owain Jones, Oliver Collins, Lloyd Parkes and Iwan Mills
Last Saturday saw Fred Edwards and John Hughes from Coed-Y-Sarnau Gun Club, present Lisa Hughes from Mid Wales Shooting Centre with a Defibrillator from Welsh Hearts and their representative Liz Evans.
Purchased with monies from club shoots, the Defibrillator will be sited at Mid Wales and will be invaluable as an added First Aid tool.
Coed-Y-Sarnau Gun Club members have donated over £15,000 to local good causes over the past 10 years and Welsh Hearts are the leading heart charity in Wales for placing defibrillators in communities and delivering CPR and defibrillator training in Wales and regarded as the heart charity at the centre of saving lives in Wales.
We would like to thank Coed-Y-Sarnau for their very generous donation.

Last weekend was another great weekend for Team Mid Wales shooters!
Paul Chaplow was High Gun at the 2-Day Top Gun Trophy shoot at Beverley CTC, shooting 198/592.
Lucy Pitt also had a successful weekend, with Ladies High Gun and a Class Win at the Welsh FITASC Selection Shoot on the Saturday and then followed that up by finishing 3rd in Ladies at the Clay Shooting Classic!
Well done both!
After another hugely successful Krieghoff Classic DTL at Mid Wales Shooting Centre-this year celebrating its 20th Anniversary, it's worth noting the Prize Fund for this year's event.
With an increased number of entries, the Prize Fund and also the amount of Places paid out to, were increased-so more shooters benefitted.
The Total Prize Fund this year was in excess of £50,000, including an astonishing £30,005 in cash and it's doubtful that any shoot this year will equal that in hard cash!
Included is Hull Cartridges sponsorship of the event, with over 21,000 cartridges being supplied by them for this event and further sponsorship supplied by the British Shooting Show.
With this level of sponsorship and the continuing popularity of the Krieghoff Classic, the event looks set to grow even more in 2019.
Team Mid Wales' Martin Myers has been racking up the miles again this Bank Holiday weekend!
Saturday saw Martin shoot FITASC at Westfield, coming 1st in AAA-Sunday a 1st in A at Orston then on to Kegworth to shoot a 97 for High Gun.
Monday was back for more at Kegworth and again, High Gun on a 115 and then finally on the way home, a call into Longridge to finish the weekend on a 96 and a 1st in AA!!
So a very busy weekend with great results!! Well done Martin!
This week sees a major shooting competition at Mid Wales Shooting Centre-the 4-day Krieghoff Classic DTL. Now in its 20th year, this event is the largest of its kind in the UK.
On the main event on the Saturday and Sunday, over 530 shooters will take part per day-a huge undertaking for the Williams family and their team, to provide a smooth-running and highly professional event-probably the reason why the event has only ever been held at Mid Wales Shooting Centre since its inception.
With these large numbers of shooters, come their families and friends too and this directly benefits the local economy. Mid Wales Shooting Centre has invested heavily this year to upgrade its facilities and has just opened its Pro Store-a one-stop shop for all shooting and countrywear needs-the first of its kind in the UK.
With most of the local hotels, guest houses and B&B’s fully booked-restaurants, pubs and cafes are having an upsurge in sales-local attractions benefit from these increased visitor numbers that the event brings and more money is spent in the local area.
It is estimated that just this one major shooting event, brings in excess of £700,000 into the local economy!
With 3 more major shoots happening this year at Mid Wales Shooting Centre, a conservative estimate of extra spend into the local economy is in excess of £2,500,000-a huge boost to local businesses!
With further investment due this year and into 2019, Mid Wales Shooting Centre will continue to grow and bring even more benefits to local businesses-so our success leads to your success!
A great weekend for Sporting success for Team Mid Wales' Martin Myers, Lucy Pitt and Becky McKenzie!

Since Jack shot his first 100/300 at the 2015 Krieghoff Classic, he's been one of the top juniors and now that's been proven with his England selection
His dedication and ambition to achieve his goal is exemplary, with many hours practising here. And just as important is his family's support-especially his father Jerry.

In 2017, Rhys not only qualified for the Wales DTL team for his 1st cap, but was also their Team Captain.
Rhys' competition victories during the year, included becoming both the Dougall Memorial and English Open, Disabled Sitting Champion and he also was 4th in his class at the Krieghoff Classic event, held at Mid Wales Shooting Centre.
We wish Rhys good shooting for 2018 and are very pleased to support him.
Martin Myers signs sponsorship deal with Mid Wales Shooting Centre!
Martin has been hooked on shooting since he was introduced to rough shooting by his father Dai, at the age of 8. Having tried most disciplines, Martin has always come back to his passion for Sporting and FITASC.
Practicing during the week and starting with local 50 bird shoots, he progressed to 100 bird registered shoots in 1989. Nowadays, Martin doesn’t practice at all in the week-his Krieghoff goes in the gun cabinet on a Sunday night and is not seen until the following weekend; but lookout then!
Remembering that Martin lives in West Wales, he has to travel quite a distance to most of his shoots-covering around 30,000 miles a year doing so. Using his trusted Krieghoff K-80 and Hull Sovereign combination, he crams 2 or more 100-bird shoots in on a Sunday and also on a Saturday if possible, aided and supported by his wife Ruth.
Martin’s been fortunate to travel to many countries doing what he loves, shooting for Wales, England and Great Britain and in the future, he’ll continue to rack up the miles, carry on shooting and trying as hard as possible to add to his impressive list of titles.
